What symptoms of anxiety are related to pregnancy?
Please, I really need help with this. Me and my girlfriend had sex and we think she might be pregnant. We're going in to take a blood test on Monday, but I just really need to know what kind of anxiety symptoms are related to pregnancy! I'll give best answer to whoever helps the most.

Pregnancy is a time of great joy and anticipation. Many mothers-to-be, especially first time moms, wonder about the upcoming addition to their family. She may worry about whether she will be a good mother, whether the baby will be healthy, whether the pregnancy will be normal. For most, these questions do not cause undue concern, but for mothers-to-be who have anxiety disorder, these questions, along with hormonal fluctuations, can create and increase anxiety symptoms.

Interestingly, women with panic attacks often experience a decrease in panic symptoms during pregnancy. The hormones oxytocin and prolactin are manufactured during pregnancy and can contribute to the lessening of panic disorder symptoms. According to anxietycure.org, 40% of women with anxiety experience a lessening of anxiety symptoms during pregnancy.

Women with obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) may see an increase in symptoms during pregnancy. It is thought that the increase of androgen hormones during pregnancy may be the cause of increasing symptoms of OCD.

Hormonal changes are gradual during pregnancy and therefore, anxiety symptoms can either increase or decrease over several months. However, once the pregnancy is completed, hormone levels significantly decrease immediately. This is the cause of both postpartum depression and increased anxiety symptoms.

The good news is that anxiety medications are relatively safe to both the mother and the baby. Women experiencing anxiety symptoms should discuss the possibility of medication with their doctor.

Taking time during pregnancy to do activities you find relaxing and enjoyable can also help. Exercise has also been found to help reduce symptoms of anxiety, however, you should talk with your doctor before beginning any exercise program.

Other treatments for anxiety, such as therapy and self help strategies including deep breathing or meditation can be helpful in relieving symptoms during pregnancy.

How long can anxiety symptoms last after you start to feel better?
basically, i was taking anxiety pills for a few weeks and i stopped using them about 2 months ago because i felt a lot better, and i wasn't suffering from panic attacks. Now i am off of them, i'm not suffering from panic attacks, but i get the occasional chest pains, back aches, abdominal pain and headaches, and i'm now curious as to how long these symptoms may last? I am pretty sure they're the symptoms of anxiety because i have still been getting slightly anxious on/off and i still stress at times. How long can they last without treatment?

Something you need to understand. If you have anxiety you also have depression. They are both different ends of the same stick. These pills havent helped you and they never will because they whole problem is in your thoughts. The docs give you these pills to keep you happy because they are not experts in anxiety and depression.Ive become a bit of an expert in anxiety and depression because i had it for 8 years and i learned how to overcome it all by myself. These pains and things your getting is caused by stress. Its like swinging on a tree branch the tree is under stress. The only way the stress will go away is if you stop swinging on the branches. The branches are your thoughts and once you release the stress full thoughts the stress will go away.Depression is caused by stress and anxiety is caused by fear of the unknown.

1.Learn how to meditate the ultimate stress buster.
2.Do yoga.Releases stress from your body and mind makes you feel relaxed and helps to kill anxiety.
3.Study yoga and its wisdom

You might think im having a laugh but im serious do all 3 of these things and you will feel like a new person in time. You ahve to make an effort and stop taking the pills because the truth is they dont work and are just a temporary fix.I didnt type all this for no reason i want to help you because ive been through hell and back with depression and anxiety and now i feel better than ever before.

If you keep taking medication im going to be really disspointed

I'm a 13 yr old girl and I have anxiety. A few weeks ago I had a shooting pain in my left arm and my immediate fear was that I was having a heart attack. Over the course of the next few weeks I've been having upper back aches, shooting pains in the arm, jaw, and leg, headaches, lower abdomen pains, and indigestion. I went to the ER and got an ECG an EKG and a chest x-ray done and all came back normal.Even when I'm relaxed I have these symptoms. Is this just anxiety? Or could it still possibly be a heart condition?

I have been suffering with anxiety for 2 months now. It was triggered by awaiting results from the hospital, I worried LOADS but all is ok now and results were good but I now can't snap out of my anxiety. I have been suffering with insomnia as a result and I feel this is making everything a thousand times harder. I feel as though my frustration and tiredness is making me more anxious but the more anxious I get the more I can't sleep, it's a viscious cycle and I don't know how to break it. I was soo happy before this happened, I love my life and want it back.
